SWITZER-land

As I mentioned before Craig had planned a romantic getaway to Switzerland for his days off. We packed up the car and headed an hour and a half west to Samnaun, Switzerland. A couple firsts for us happened!!!   Little did I know it was going to be a weekend we would never forget!  

Our first FIRST for us was going to Switzerland...we both have never been.  

We started the vacation with a day of skiing at the Silveretta Arena.  The weather was not cooperating at all...I am talking blizzard status.  Despite us not being able to see a foot ahead of us most of the day...the skiing was AMAZING!  This place was huge:

The resort has over 200 km of skiing and 43 lifts.  You can ski from Austria to Switzerland!

Once again I couldnt believe how nice the chairlifts were.  We definitely used the bubble every ride to keep ourselves warm and dry. 

I cant believe how much Craig has improved.  I always ski behind him just in case something were to happen and  I was so engrossed with his skiing that I actually had my FIRST yardsale of the season.  I was watching him crossed my tips and went right over on to my face/side.   Just buried myself.  

We saved the duty free run for last.  It is my favorite ski run that I have ever done in my life! Its a leg burner from start to finish its over 11 km.  It starts off with these crazy hair pin turns...on one side of you there is open face rock from the mountain on the other a massive drop off.  Then it starts to open up a bit and flatten out with some random rollers.  The bottom is flat and narrow and calls for your best tuck. We were loving life the entire way down!  The best part is the trail ends right at this place...The Smuggler Alm!  We had our FIRST apres ski here!  More details to come about this place...

We finally got to our hotel early evening.  It was gorgeous...the room was prefect size, the bed was heaven, and the view from our balcony was breath taking.  

The town was charming.  There was one main street that was lined with adorable swiss style hotels, cafes, and heated outdoor drinking yurts.  The atmosphere was relaxed and by the time Sunday rolled around I did not want to leave.

So the first part of the trip was all about skiing...the second was all about the spa.  We got to experience our FIRST wellness resort.  I am obsessed.  If any women are reading this blog and are living in Europe and havent been to one yet...you have to go.  Relaxing, rejuvenating, and a whole lot of tits and ass. That's right...clothing is definitely optional.  I applauded them for just letting it all hang out...Craig wasnt a big fan so we mostly stayed in the clothed section of the place.  There  was couple moments where I had to remind myself of my age and hold in some giggles.

I can not say enough about the spa part of this trip.  They definitely know how to build a spa over here.  You have to google Hotel Montana in Samnaun to see all it had to offer,   I obviously couldnt take a lot of pictures if I wanted to keep this blog PG-13.
