Out of a Coma and $670

I made it!  It was not easy though.  The day started out with me scrambling to finish packing.  Finally everything was packed; 3 dufflebags, 1 ski bag with two pairs of skis , a ski backpack with my ski boots on the outside and a huge tote.   We had to stop in Salem to grab  sticks and skates for Craig, which I failed to make room for prior to leaving.  So after a lot of reorganizing and duck tape we were back on the road.

It took us 3 attempts to make it to my terminal.  First failure was when Lisa and Andrea both assured me that all international flights depart out of E...wrong.  So we had to exit the airport start all over again.  Then I had a brain malfunction and told my mom to take a left to arrivals rather then departures (I guess I saw it as we were arriving to leave?).  So once again we had to exit and start over again.   Finally, we made it to the right terminal only to realized that we couldn't curbside check in because I forgot my E-ticket at home.  As soon as I wheeled in all my luggage inside the terminal I was asked to stand in a separate line for over sized, and said goodbye to my mom reassuring her that she didnt have to stay and I'd be fine. Fast forward 45 minutes of standing in line, first bag 52lbs, second 56lbs, third 51lbs, and the skis and stick combo were 70lbs.  So I'm trying to calculate it all in my head "Okay she will give me two bags free and then ill pay extra for the other bag, but maybe she will say they are all under 50lbs because they are so close, and ill have to pay oversized for the skis/stick. "  Wrong, wrong, and wrong.  She tells me its going to be $670 and its instant tears and asking how can that be?  She decided to charge me overweight for all the bags even the one free (which they were but COME  ON).  So my mom was right, I did pack to much but good news is it all made it here!

The flights were a piece of cake.  On my long flight from Boston to Amsterdam I lucked out and had the only seat empty on the entire flight right next to me, so I made it into a little love seat and passed out till we landed.

The last thing Craig said to me on the phone was "grab your bags and find the first exit out of the airport and do not leave till I find you".  So I had two carts completely packed with my stuff and exited the airport.  I sat there for 3 hours and still no Craig.  I finally realized that Craig wasnt coming.   I was able to check my hotmail to find this " I have no idea if you have any chance to get this, but I was told this morning that our team shuttle service "Four Seasons" will be picking you up in Munich"   After talking/crying/swearing to Craig I was on a shuttle to Innsbruck.  I just woke up from a 15 hour sleep so tomorrow I will post some pictures, its absolutely breathtaking here!
