Last night I was invited to go out to a fundraiser with some of the girls...we had a blast and I learned some new Austrian things!!! Like...
When you greet someone or say goodbye you give them a handshake while kissing on both cheeks (for both men and women) and sometimes people even do 3 kisses
When you take off your shoes in some homes they give you slippers to wear around! |
these look like little nips, but they are actually mini mixed drinks that you
tip upside down bang on the table
screw the top off
place it on the tip of your nose
and then drink without hands...I had some issues with the no hands part |
HAMMERSCHLAGEN
This is hands down my favorite drinking game ever! It apparently originated at the first Octoberfest in 1810...and I think should make a debut at the Xmas Keg this year...
A nail is driven about a half inch into the wood in front of each player |
Each player's turn consists of taking one swing at their nail
with the hollow ended hammer and then passing it to the next player |
Play continues to the right and lasts until one player has driven the head of their nail to (or below) the surface of the wood...
last person to make their nail flush to the wood buys a round for all the players! |
Big winners at the raffle |
maybe next time! |
when they called my number I ran up on stage and received this and I was like Oh my gosh I won a car!!!! But it actually translates to I get a new car for a weekend or 300 km not to shabby and ill be taking that on the Autobahn for sure! |
As always the girls here are so nice and honestly
the best hostesses ever...thanks for such a fun night!!! |
I cant wait to show you guys the Christmas Market here!!!
